At it again, I was at club Vibes in Hartford once again drawing  a reggae band practicing. They make the main performances on Fridays in the greater Hartford area. I sat watched and ate and sketch while this time a powerful and soulful female singer sang the lyrics

tis' the season
for the reason
love is history
Imma gonna play me some music
da da do dae...

Again music that wood make a crowd head bob and dance to the groove.

BRIAN MARSELLA TRIO

BRIAN MARSELLA TRIO

All was cool in the Hartford Public Library as the Brian Trio Band played. The Philadelphia Pennsylvania area band's cool came in the form of hip beats composed by Mr. Marsella, sharply manicured beards and horn rimmed glasses (which all three sported) reminiscent of the days of Jazz greats who wrote the standards that so many musicians play today. The Bass player Jason Fraticella was entranced and grooved to the rhythms and melodies composed by Mr. Marsella while the drummer Anwar accentuated the compositions with well placed beats and swoosh sounds of the symbols.
Below are my sketches done while at the event

The Curtis Brothers - Classic Jazz with a Latin Blend

4/12/15
The Baby Grand Jazz Series sponsored by the Hartford Jazz Society featured The Curtis Brothers.A duel featuring Curtis brothers Zaccai on piano and and Luques on bass. They proved to be second to known musicians as they were in creative control of the projection, tone and improvisation of the jazz standards. They even infused there heritage in the music with some Latin bebop. Over all another outstanding performance at the library. Below my sketches of the performance.

A Reggae Band Practicing

Went to club Vibes in Hartford yesterday and watched a reggae band practice. They practice songs that would make an audience bob to the groove. As the singer crooned out "Mr. big man"  the hard working bartender 'Milk the Model" doled out drinks. Below are sketches.
